Not So Distant Future

Though sometimes we might prefer actual books, sometimes we can’t get the books we need.  Google Books is the tool for you.

Google has been scanning the full text of books in major libraries, both public and university for the last year.  While you can’t read the whole book online if it is still copyrighted, you can read parts of it and you can search within the book for keywords.

Google Calendar is a handy online calendar that you can share with others.  You can even have the calendar notify you of events by email or by messaging your cell phone by using the “manage calendar” feature.

All of these Google tools can be found under the “more” button to the right of the Google search box.
