Hi-
I am an administrator who blogs. I must confess that, for ease and efficiency, I have stayed basically around sites like ning for my online discussions, but I do have a blog and when find time to write, I update. I also read quite a ot of blogs- one of my favorites is LeaderTalk which is just for administrators. I would love the time during the day to update the blog constantly, but I am just not afforded it. I find that it is a very useful tool for anyone who is interested in being a lifelong learner.

Carolyn,
I'll brag on my principal, Jeanette Johnson - though a relatively new blogger, she has embraced the web 2.0 tools I'm constantly feeding her! :)
Her blog is From The Principal's Desk:

I listed some on a post in my blog today. I didn't dare list all the hyperlinks here b/c I was afraid your blog filter might think it was spam. They are:
-Dave Sherman's Princpal and Interest
-Melinda Miller's Willard East Blog
-Random Thoughts of an Admin Lifer
-Bob Maynard's The Principal's Office: Life from THIS side of the desk
-Mr. Moses

Come on over to TechnoTuesday to see the links and visit these to see if they fit the target of what you are showcasing.

[...] Carolyn Foote from the blog Not So Distant Future is asking the blogoshere to point her to school administrators who blog. Since I just did some of this back in June 2007, I will point her to that link, but also add some more that have been added to my own bloglines account since that conference. [...]

Hi Diane,

I didn't think I excused administrators. Instead of teacher, it might be better to use the term "professional educator." In fact, a superintendent and I wrote one of the earliest sets of tech competencies for administrators. See:

All the best and sorry for the confusion,

Carolyn,

I also read Dr. Jan's blog
http://www.drjansblog.typepad.com/dr_jans_blog/
for the administrative point of view.

One question: why do some bloggers - like Doug Johnson
http://doug-johnson.squarespace.com/blue-skunk-blog/2007/9/16/the-responsibility-for-effective-staff-developmen.html
insist that teacher/librarians need to be responsible for their own PD, particularly in the tech sector, while administrators appear to be "excused" from this responsibility?
