Share your stories

How do we help others visualize the things that make learning and schools successful?   Anytime we seek to make an idea “stick” stories and visuals are helpful.

At the ASCD conference, Sam Chaltain, the director of the Forum for Education and Democracy  shared a project called Rethink Learning Now.   On the site, we are asked to share our stories–stories of a time we learned something or how our favorite teacher added meaning to our lives.  What’s especially ingenious about the site is that they tag each story, ultimately creating a tag cloud that highlights what is most important to contributors about their own teaching and learning.

Not only is this an excellent project to add our own learning stories to, it’s a great model of how one could use Wordle to have teachers collaborate to create a powerful statement of your own school’s shared vision.    Imagine your own school’s Wordle displayed on your campus website for parents–what a great way to “show” what’s important at your school.

Add your voice–and add your story to build a national picture of learning.
